Eric the Elephant
Meet Eric the Elephant! He is our school mascot for our Afritwin Connecting Classrooms scheme. Last year Charles Darwin began a twin scheme with primary schools in Zimbabwe and Capetown and our children have loved finding out about the different countries and cultures.

It took us almost a year and without the amazing dedication of these three year 5 children Eric would not have been completed! We worked together and made it from just a few cardboard boxes and newspaper. At times things were not going to plan and Eric was looking far from an elephant but the year 5 girls persevered every week! Once Eric was made and strengthened we had a design competition to design the pattern for Eric. Well done to Aleyna (Y4) who came up with our connecting countries design. We are all extremely proud of all our children and the masterpieces they create for our school. Eric now stands proudly at our school entrance to welcome all our visitors.

This is our milk bottle Igloo made in Reception, I'm sure you'll agree it really is very impressive!
