Welcome to the Charles Darwin Community Primary School website!
Welcome to Charles Darwin Community Primary School, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to thrive.
We are proud that our January 2026 Ofsted report recognises the many strengths of our school, noting that pupils “achieve well and enjoy learning” and that they “are happy and proud of their school and feel that they belong”. At the heart of our success are our skilled and dedicated, hardworking staff, our amazing children and our strong, supportive school community, all working together to create a calm, orderly and respectful environment in which pupils flourish.
Our broad and ambitious curriculum is carefully designed so that pupils build secure knowledge and skills year on year. As Ofsted highlights, teaching enables pupils to be “well prepared for secondary school”, and we are particularly proud that our pupils leave us with outcomes above national averages in reading, writing, mathematics and English grammar, punctuation and spelling. Alongside strong academic achievement, we place great emphasis on personal development: an “extensive and well-structured personal development and wellbeing offer”, which ensures pupils grow in confidence, resilience and independence while enjoying a rich range of clubs, trips, leadership opportunities and wider experiences.
Charles Darwin is a place where children feel safe, included and inspired to aim high. We work closely with families and the wider community to remove barriers, nurture potential and open doors to future opportunities. Whether children join us in Reception or later in their primary journey, they quickly become part of our caring and ambitious school family.
There is a wealth of information on this website but a visit to the school gives you the opportunity to see our school in action. I encourage you to make an appointment to come and see the Charles Darwin Way for yourself.
