April!
Well, April has been a particularly short month for us at the Den this year. We started the month off with our Easter half term and then had two bank holidays, but we still managed to get a lot done!
We have completed a few more of our “Wild Challenges” and are little bit closer to that silver medal. The children designed bug rocks by drawing their favorite mini-beast on a rock, which we will use to decorate our beetle house.
We also made a mini-beast habitat! To make this we collected sticks from our schools ground and with the help of an adult dug a hole, placed our sticks and covered them with dead leaves. Hopefully the mini-beast will love their new home.
Before the Easter weekend, we had a visit from the Easter Bunny, who hid decorative eggs around our outdoor play area and the children worked as a team to collect them all. That wasn’t enough for us though we needed our chocolate hit and made Easter Nests - luckily for the staff the children made a few extras!!! Yum yum.
There has been lots of team building and buddying activities this month which has been lovely to watch. The children have been building leg models, completing jigsaws and playing sports together.
